Samuel-De Champlain Promenade

Samuel-De Champlain Promenade

The Samuel-De Champlain Promenade is a must-visit place during your stay in Quebec city. This natural space located along the Saint Lawrence River stretches for nearly 6.8 km, from the bridge area to Gilmour's hill, with the inauguration of the third phase planned for the summer of 2023. You can admire the beauty of the river while enjoying an exceptional green environment and engaging in various sports.

The National Capital Commission of Quebec, in partnership with the city of Quebec and the Ministry of Transportation, rehabilitated one of the most degraded sections of the river banks by creating six stations, each with its own identity. The Samuel-De Champlain Promenade has received multiple international awards for the exceptional quality of its facilities.

The construction of the promenade was carried out in three distinct phases. The first phase involved the creation of a 2.5 km linear park along the river's shoreline, from Cageux Wharf to Sillery's coast. The second phase connected Cageux Wharf to the Grèves Trail, which offers a breathtaking view of Jacques-Cartier Beach. Finally, the last phase, spanning a distance of 2.5 km, extends from Sillery's hill to Gilmour's hill,
